Orange Beach Inshore Fishing
Orange Beach Inshore Fishing charters are done in the clear, shallow waters of Orange Beach and Gulf Shores. Inshore fishing is always in protected areas where the water is typically calm and seasickness is never a problem.
Fishing Orange Beach and Gulf Shores inshore waters can be very productive March through December. Inshore trips will typically be fishing the waters of Perdido Bay, Wolf Bay, Little Lagoon and The Intracoastal Water Way searching for Speckled Trout, Flounder, Redfish, and Pompano. The inshore waters of Orange Beach and Gulf Shores are filled with productive deep water docks, artificial reefs, points, and drop-offs that hold a variety of game fish including Speckled Trout, Redfish, and Flounder.
Perdido Pass is a productive spot around the tide changes for Redfish in the spring, summer, and fall months. If you are there at the right time it usually makes for an exciting time as you catch the schools of Redfish feeding on the bait being washed out of the inshore waters of Perdido Bay and into the Gulf of Mexico. Perdido Pass is also a great spot for Flounder fishing along the jetties and drop-offs. Live bait and artificials both work well along the bottom.
As the waters around Orange Beach, Gulf Shores and Perdido are much clearer than in the Mobile Bay area, I will often go to the lightest tackle possible while fishing for Speckled Trout. Live bait fishing for Speckled Trout in these waters is usually the most productive.
Often found in large groups around the Orange Beach and Gulf Shores back bays and inshore waters, Speckled Trout can offer one rod bend after another. They tend to feed over grass beds or sandy potholes, near piers and channels, drop-offs and in canals. They feed on croakers, live shrimp, shiners, pinfish, and many other types of live bait.
*Guided inshore trips in Orange Beach and Gulf Shores depart from Zekes Landing, LuLu's, Tacky Jacks, and Boggy Point. If you are staying at a water accessible house or condo, please let me know and I can pick up from almost anywhere by water*
